Father And Son Remanded In Custody After They Deny Keeping A Man As A Slave

A father and son have appeared in court accused of keeping a man as a slave for two years.

Anthony Howard Baker, 48, and Harvey Baker, 19, are also jointly charged with six counts of causing actual bodily harm to their alleged victim.

The pair appeared at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Saturday when they both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutor Abul Hussain said the Bakers kept their alleged 20-year-old victim as a slave for two years and used him as a worker.

Magistrates remanded both men, from Earlswood Cottage, Jersey Marine, Swansea, in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.

South Wales Police said on Friday that the alleged victim was receiving hospital treatment and was being supported by officers and specialist services.
