Gemma Collins Joins Good Morning Britain Team After Wowing Piers Morgan On Dancing On Ice

After winning over Piers Morgan with her stint on Dancing On Ice, Gemma Collins has been revealed to be joining the Good Morning Britain team.

Gemma will be in the studio for the duration of Monday’s live show, where she’ll also guest present the showbiz news section, alongside regular reporter Richard Arnold.

An ITV source told HuffPost UK: “We’re really excited to have Gemma Collins joining the team for the day. It’s certainly going to be a lively morning.”

It’s fitting that Gemma should be presenting the entertainment news, as she’s dominated the headlines since her first appearance on Dancing On Ice last month.

First, The GC and Dancing On Ice were repeatedly forced to deny rumours of supposed “diva behaviour” behind the scenes, which culminated in an on-screen bust-up between the contestant and judge Jason Gardiner, who she accused of “selling stories” about her to the press.

Jason was quick to refute the claims, insisting that they were both “salacious” and “libellous”.

A week on, and Gemma shocked viewers once again, this time when she toppled over and hit the ice in the middle of her performance to Céline Dion’s ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’.

Throughout it all, Gemma has had the support of regular GMB host Piers, who is usually-hard-to-impress (unless you’re his mate and you’re running for President, that is).

Last week, he praised her for soldiering on after her fall, referring to it as “the gutsiest thing he’d seen on any talent show for years”.

Good Morning Britain airs every weekday from 6.30am on ITV.
