EU Denies Jean-Claude Juncker Was Making Fun Of Theresa May’s Dancing

Jean-Claude Juncker was not making fun of Theresa May when he danced on stage, a spokesman for the EU Commission has insisted.

The Commission President gyrated his hips behind the lectern and grinned as he spoke to the European Committee of the Regions on Monday.

May danced onto the stage last week to ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’ as she prepared to give her speech to the Conservative Party conference.

But Margaritis Schinas, the Chief EU Commission Spokesperson, denied Juncker’s wiggle was directed at the PM.

Donald Tusk, the EU Council President, annoyed British Brexiteers last month when he posted a mocking Instagram photo, showing him offering her a cake with the caption “sorry, no cherries”.

The next day May demanded the EU show her and the UK some “respect” in the negotiations.
