Barack And Michelle Obama ‘In Talks For Netflix Series’

The couple are said to be in advanced negotiations with bosses of the streaming service to front their own show, which would focus on “inspirational stories” about issues important to them.

According to the report, the format and number of episodes are not yet finalised, with CNN also cited unnamed sources claiming the talks centre on a “production partnership”.

The NYT also claimed Obama will not use the show to “directly respond to President Trump or conservative critics”.

However, it would give him the chance to connect with Netflix’s near 118 million subscribers around the world.

Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president, told the NYT: “President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire.

“Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.”

The former president is no stranger to the streaming network. He appeared as a guest in the premiere episode of David Letterman’s Netflix show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’.

The streaming service also premiered a biopic on the former president in 2016, ‘Barry’
