House of Commons Deputy Speaker Lindsay Hoyle has paid tribute to his daughter who has died suddenly, aged 28.

Natalie Lewis-Hoyle is believed to have passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening. Details around her death remained unclear on Saturday.

Hoyle, Labour MP for Chorley, said in a statement on Twitter: “I am truly devastated by the death of our beautiful daughter Natalie. Our family will never be the same without our loving granddaughter, sister & aunty.

“Thank you for the kind support we’ve received it is overwhelming. Please continue to respect our privacy & allow us to grieve.”

Natalie’s mother, Miriam Lewis, said in a post on Facebook: “It is with unbearable sadness that I have to announce the sudden death of my beautiful, much adored daughter Natalie.

“If Natty contacted you by phone, text, messenger or any other means on Thursday evening, 14 December, between 20.00 and midnight, please let me know… or contact A/Insp Jon Loudon at Essex Police incident no. 158.”

Lewis said Natalie’s iPhone is still missing, possibly left on a train to Ipswich from London Liverpool Street station.

“Natalie is my only child, my mini-me. Please help me find out what happened to her in the hours before her death,” Lewis added.

Hoyle’s fellow MPs have begun to send their condolences on social media.
