Sumatera Island is one of the vast islands in Indonesia with population approximately about 45 million peoples and still growing. Sumatera Island have many resources, from natural resources, land forest, land products, handicraft, until human resources.

Sumatera Island require a mass rapid mobilization, not just in trading sector, but also in distribution of products and raw materials, and mobilization of people to extending a better life.

That kind of condition must be supported with a good transportation facilities and infrastructure. Unfortunately, the condition of infrastructures and facilities are far from the quality that it should. As a result this condition creates in-sufficient and in-efficient mobilization of peoples. As a result much of travel time expands to 50% than its actual time, and the most thing are many regions can not develop properly.

The Local Government of any regions in Sumatera Island have a will to solve this transportation problem. Many ways are already conducted, but in partial way, that doesn’t make the problems fully solve.

The problem if can be lists are: 1) Mobility in massif scale to support the mobility of people that affect the economic sector and other sectors. 2) The fee of transportation cost that affect the frequent and speed of mobility. 3) Productivity that affect by distribution of raw materials and products. 4) Knowledge distribution that affect by mobility of people and contact with outside environment.

Objective:

To find a best suite of kind facilities and infrastructure that support a mass rapid transportation and it required with the condition terrain of Sumatera Island.
